Thirteen Corners - American Malt Whiskey
(750 ml.)
A true "grain-to-glass" American Craft Whiskey. This whiskey is mashed, fermented, distilled, filtered, barreled, aged, and bottled by hand here in our Aberdeen, Washington distillery. No skipping any steps or passing off someone else's product as our own here. Aged in un-used or "virgin" American White Oak barrels for up to 3yrs. Our American Malt Whiskey is made from a mash bill consisting of Washington select malted barley, soft white winter wheat, and malted rye. Besides the unique mash-bill, this malt whiskey is slightly different than traditional malt whiskeys as it's aged on un-used oak. Traditionally, the more popular malt whiskeys have been aged utilizing used bourbon barrels (we do that too) and/or finished in a variety of different types of wine barrels. We found that because we take such a choice selection of the pot distillation, leaving heavier alcohols behind, aging in a brand new barrel was favorable to the maturation of this spirit. New barrels tend to make for a richer, fuller bodied whiskey. We take a choice cut, or a conservative selection of the distillation. In doing so we sacrifice some product yield. In the end that's ok by us as we are committed to making a quality product from start to finish and we think the results will speak for themselves. We hope you enjoy!
